This past weekend I became the Godfather to my nephew Jason, this was a complete honor for me to be chosen being that I had so many older male cousins. To be asked to take on such an important role and title in a family member’s life is something that is considered special amongst my family and me. This to me was the greatest cultural experience I’ve had in my 20 year life and hope that many others will embrace their chance if they are someday given this same opportunity. Cultural experiences are important for many reasons, mainly because they shape your life and help you to understand who you are as a person and where you come from.
